Best movies to watch before 2022 ends

2022 is about to be over, and it’s already promising to be a fantastic year for cinema. It’s challenging to keep track of all the highly anticipated movies that have met and beyond expectations. Therefore, we the DYI – Young Indians have compiled a list of the movies you must watch before the year 2022 is over. There are many positive things in store for 2022. Many highly original films and gifted directors will be showcasing their work, including genres like action, comedy, horror, and superheroes. We, the DYI recommend you to watch these movies.

Here are the best movies you cannot miss before 2022 ends

1) Turning Red

Chinese-Canadian director Domee Shi came along with this adorable creature story about a 13-year-old girl who transforms into a red panda when strong emotions come calling. No Pixar movie had ever been solo helmed by a female filmmaker. Although not the main section, it is based on her own upbringing and is laden with the real growing pangs of puberty.

2) The Batman

Matt Reeves’ adaptation of the Dark Knight, although not nearly as risky as it could have been, is nevertheless aesthetically stunning. In the vein of David Fincher’s Seven, The Batman is a protracted, slow-burning adventure with hauntingly beautiful graphics. It has compelling performances from Robert Pattinson and Zoe Kravitz. The Batman lays the groundwork for a deeper, weirder sort of Batman film, which hopefully materialises in a sequel that brings everyone back together.

3) RRR

You should not miss this SS Rajamouli-directed, three-hour Telugu movie before the year ends. Because the show never fails to astonish, even when you’re certain that nothing could possibly surpass the fist-pumping adrenaline that came before. It’s important to approach it with an open mind and an open heart. Understanding the backdrop, however, is less important in RRR than the experience itself, which follows two men as they fight against British colonial rule in Northern India and chase their own destinies.

4) Top Gun: Maverick

One of this year’s most popular films is Top Gun: Maverick. The entire movie, which is starring Tom Cruise and was made by Joseph Kosinski, has every button touched. To help a group of hotshot pilots complete a task that is nearly impossible, Maverick returns to Top Gun. The story is simple but exciting. At every turn, Cruise’s skill and death-defying tenacity are put to good use, creating breathtaking aerial warfare.

5) After Sun

A divorced father (Paul Mescal) and his little daughter (the effortlessly stylish Francesca Corio) navigate the highs and lows of an eventful trip to the Turkish coast in this sun-washed and achingly tragic drama from Scottish director Charlotte Wells. Wells varies the visual style to convey how hazy, distant memories may seep into your bones. Each scene is a flashback.

6) Ambulance

You’ll wish you could love anything as much as Michael Bay’s preoccupation with nauseating drone images with the result being an immensely terrific experience seeing Ambulance. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II portrays a veterinarian who assists his wife through emergency surgery. After receiving no assistance from the VA, Johnny seeks assistance from Jake Gyllenhaal, his crime lord’s adoptive brother. After a bungled bank heist, an EMT and an injured police officer are taken from an ambulance.

7) The Platform

The Platform demonstrates how quickly society may descend into a state of gluttony and greed. This dystopian drama is set in a high-rise jail, as the title would imply, where all of the convicts anxiously await the daily meal. In this jail, convicts spend time with boring conversation, reading, and sleeping before the main event: luncheon. It serves as a potent metaphor for the “haves” and “have-nots” of society. Goreng is aware that there is just one way out—up. He must first fall before rising. As the characters frequently discuss those above and below them, this movie is an excellent way to learn Spanish numbers.
